On this website
- No cookies or tracking. We use no cookies, analytics, pixels or advertising.
- Language. Your browser stores the language you pick (in its local storage, under the name
thunder-lang) so we don't ask again. It never leaves your device and you can delete it in your browser settings. - Hosting. The website runs on Google Cloud Run in the European europe-west1 region, with Cloudflare delivering HTTPS traffic. These providers record technical request data (IP address, browser, page and time) to operate the service and protect it from abuse.
- Fonts. Served from this website; no connection is made to Google or other providers.
- Wheel demo. The images you try are converted in your browser and sent nowhere.
Contributions and licenses
Payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. (Ireland). We never see your full card number. Stripe shares your name, email, country and amount with us so we can handle the payment, automatically issue an invoice and meet our tax and accounting obligations. The legal bases are performing the payment you request and complying with legal obligations. We keep this data for the periods required by law (up to 6 years under the Spanish Commercial Code). Stripe also processes data under its own privacy policy.
Each confirmed contribution is automatically invoiced in Zoho Invoice and the invoice is sent to the email provided during checkout. We store the name, email, billing address, tax identifier when supplied, amounts and payment identifiers needed for invoicing and duplicate prevention. Operational billing records are stored in Google Cloud Firestore in europe-west1. Card details are entered exclusively in Stripe.
If you write to us
We use your email and what you tell us only to reply and, if you ask, to let you know about news such as the Windows version. We keep it for as long as the conversation lasts and then for as long as needed to handle any liability. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
In the Thunder app
Thunder processes your files on your computer. It has no accounts, telemetry or analytics, and NITSNETS SL never receives your files or usage data. The app only goes online in these cases:
- Components. The first time you work with video or links it downloads ffmpeg (from ffmpeg.martin-riedl.de) and yt-dlp (from github.com) and checks they are the official builds. Also when updating them.
- Links. When you paste a link, it asks that website for the title and thumbnail and, if you choose, downloads the video or audio. That website sees the request like any other visit.
- Finding where an image comes from. Only if you choose that action, the image is sent to Google Lens or Bing, depending on your preferences, and opened in your browser. From then on, that service's privacy policy applies.
- Sending. AirDrop, Mail, Messages and WhatsApp work through the apps on your computer. Thunder sends nothing on its own.
Contacts. If you choose who to send something to, Thunder opens your macOS contacts with your permission. Recent contacts you use are stored in Thunder's preferences on your Mac and never leave it. You can clear them in the preferences.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data, object to or restrict its use and ask for portability by writing to thunder@nitsnets.com. If you think we got it wrong, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es) or your local authority.
Changes
If we change anything important in this policy, you'll see it here with its update date.
